Lasik

LASIK (For removal of Glasses)

What is Lasik Surgery?

LASIK surgery is a popular vision correction procedure that reshapes the cornea, the clear outer layer of the eye. By using a microkeratome or femtosecond laser, a thin flap is created in the cornea, which is then lifted to expose the underlying tissue. An excimer laser is then used to remove some of the corneal tissue to create a new shape that improves vision by allowing light to focus more accurately on the retina.

After the laser treatment, the corneal flap is carefully repositioned without stitches. It is important to note that not everyone is a candidate for LASIK surgery and that the procedure carries some risks and potential complications. It is crucial to have a comprehensive consultation with a qualified ophthalmologist to determine eligibility and understand the potential benefits and drawbacks of the procedure.

  • In case of Myopia/Near Sightedness/Minus Power light rays are focused in front of the Retina
  • In case of Hypermetropia/Farsightedness/Plus power light rays are focused on back of the Retina
  • In case of Astigmatism/Cylindrical Power they are irregularly focused

LASIK Procedure uses tiny laser spots and multiple locations over the cornea to reshape the corneal surface in such manner that light rays are focused precisely onto the retina, hence removing the need for any spectacles or contact lenses. Dr. Sunandini Eye Care & Cornea Clinic is among the best clinics for LASIK Surgery in Delhi.

Why Lasik?

IMMEDIATE RESULTS

Aspheric LASIK is a new form of LASIK surgery that reshapes the cornea to imitate its natural aspheric shape, improving visual clarity and color perception while reducing glare and halos. Dr. Sunandini Bose may prefer this procedure for its benefits, but will need to perform an eye exam to determine if it is the best option for each patient. Consultation with an experienced ophthalmologist is important to determine the best course of treatment.

CUSTOMIZED LASIK

Tailor-made LASIK is a procedure that takes into account the unique surface irregularities of each patient's cornea, known as higher order aberrations, through customized treatment. This is in addition to the laser treatment for refractive power correction, resulting in improved vision quality beyond that of conventional LASIK.

SBK (TISSUE SAVING LASIK)

SBK LASIK is a safer alternative to conventional LASIK as it uses a special instrument to create a corneal flap that is thinner, at 90 microns instead of 120 microns. This results in a thicker, stronger, and safer corneal bed after LASIK ablation, making it recommended for all LASIK patients, especially those with thin corneas.

NO PAIN NO INJECTION

The Lasik procedure can be performed without pain by using only topical anesthesia in the form of anaesthetic eye drops, which effectively numb the eyes.

<15 MINUTES JOB

One of the world's fastest Lasik Laser is used for the procedure, allowing for a quick and efficient process. The estimated time of completion is much less than 15 minutes, and patients can expect to leave the operation theatre in a short amount of time.

BACK IN 3 - 4 DAYS

After the Lasik procedure, there is no need for bandages or strict bed rest. Patients can resume routine activities as early as the next day and can generally return to almost all activities within 3 to 4 days.
